This shoot at The Olana has to be probably a top moment so far as a wedding professional and creative. From top to bottom it is hands-down one of the most beautiful days I’ve had the pleasure of filming.
Starting with the team– Stephanie, of Stephanie Michelle Photography, invited me to join the shoot because she knew video would take it to a completely new level. Stephanie was looking to rebrand her wedding photography business, and this shoot was really what was going to launch her into a new phase of her career. After speaking with Stephanie I knew that this would be the perfect opportunity for me to collaborate with some amazing professionals and create something beautiful with them.
Our shoot took place at a one-of-a-kind venue that’s new to the DFW area but certainly one of the most in-demand, and not to mention STUNNING! The Olana is located on a breathtaking property, and guests are immediately transported to the French countryside. From it’s sprawling grounds, to towering chateau-like silhouette, it seems like it was lifted straight out of the Rococo period.
The invitation suite alone was enough to make anyone swoon, and that was just the tip of the iceberg! We started shooting with our first bridal model, April, who *absolutely* was smizing and Tyra would be proud. Her energy throughout the shoot was impeccable, and I didn’t even need to prompt her with direction or movement, and she always made eye contact at the right time.
When we got around to working with Rasha and Der’rikk, we had SO much fun. These two were the perfect balance of romantic and intimate and fun and energetic, and they didn’t skip a beat when we gave them direction. From some stunning indoor shots, to braving the mid-day sun, they were awesome team players.
The design and styling wouldn’t have been complete without the work of the incredible Lizzie Bee’s Flower Shoppe! From the bouquets to floral arch and beyond, Lizzie and her team made each vignette look like a million bucks. Once the cake arrived, created by Crystal of XO Cakery, we really felt like the design concept was fully flushed out. The cake featured a delicate ruffle-like texture on the top tier which beautifully complimented the *actual* Triumph of Venus on the bottom tear. Not gonna lie, tears were shed when the cake arrived!!! And when a cake makes you cry, you know the work it *literally* chef’s kiss!
I’m always proud of what I do, but especially with this shoot and team. But the icing on the cake was being featured in Style Me Pretty! It was a boost of confidence for everyone who worked on this shoot, and affirmed all of our hard work.
